About me

Ashish Srivastav
I am a Client Partner and Strategy Consultant by profession and by education I am an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
During most of the week, I am either trying to get more revenue for my employer or I am trying to help my clients and customers achieve their business and digital transformation goals. Most of my work has been in the space of Insurance and Banking where I have worked across the value chain.
In my free time, I am trying to envisage the future of insurance and banking and I am trying to both help re-design and re-tool the Financial Services industry. This blog series is an attempt to capture some of these ideas.
All the posts and comments here are going to be in my private capacity and in no way reflect the official view or position of my employer.
A love of History
When I am not working, I am a budding historian and it not be far off to even call it my first love. It is both a passion in academic sense but also an attempt on my part to understand and popularise the Indian voice in history circles.
A lot of theories or even interpretations of some of the evidences have been done by mostly American and European scholars to further propagate the Eurocentric views of history whereas a huge body of evidence also contradicts it.
I would like to use this platform to bring forth the other side of history and then leave to readers to make their conclusions.
Some of the areas that I have interest in and would like to cover here are
- Indus Valley Civilisation
- Aryan Invasion/Migration Theory (Debunked!)
- Oral history tradition of India
- Maritime history of India
Contemporary Politics
On politics, I lean on the conservative side and on economy I am a hard-core capitalist and liberal. I would be using this platform my views on the politics and economics across the world. This would be both to air my views and also to help explain some of the important but less understood aspects of economics and by extension politics which are typically used/misused by different groups depending on their ideologies.
